Enrichment for Mama’s Soul for a Full Education
Part of our mission here at Paideia Southeast is to host local events as a means of enriching mama’s soul. We pray the events are not only encouraging but also help you make connections with other Christian families.
As mothers ourselves, we here at Paideia Southeast know how busy you all are. Why would we want to add another event to your schedules?
Recently, while listening to The New Mason Jar podcast episode 5, Lynn Bruce said something that made my head nod in agreement.
We can not disconnect what Wendy Capehart calls the riches from a full education. These things are your birthright as a human.
Lynn Bruce
You, dear Mama, are a beautiful human made in the image of God! Your soul needs what many call the riches: beautiful music & art, quality literature & time spent outdoors. They are a part of a full education & go hand and hand with math, science, writing & more. But they are not just for your children—they are gifts for every human being!
When my own family first began nature journaling, we would go for a walk together. Then the children would spend time making entries in their journals. It wasn’t until years later that I began to sit down and journal myself. What a change this simple step brought about! With Mama sitting still for just awhile, deeper conversations could unfold. The act of journaling helped me to attend to details I missed when just walking. My children could see Mama learning new things & growing in her own skill of journaling. It’s truly been an enriching experience! Do I always nature journal after our walks? No. But I never regret the time spent doing so!
Growing in knowledge, learning new skills and having deeper conversations are just a few of the fruits of walking alongside our children. Another great benefit is that our own souls are enriched. Paideia Southeast hopes to provide you with some ways to do this in our upcoming events.
An Invitation
Local mamas: On November 6, join us for Mom’s Enrichment Day spent at Gibbs Gardens. Bring those journals!
